What's in a name?

A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. But here the question is does a drink called Dark and Stormy would taste dark and stormy?

Not really. This drink recipe originally from Bermuda, was probably named that due to the color and carbonation that makes it look like a dark storm in a Collins glass. This is a light summer drink, perfect for those hot summer days or cool summer nights this year.

2 ounces dark rum
4 ounces ginger beer
½ ounce fresh squeezed lime juice

Pour ingredients over ice in a Collins glass, garnish with a lime wedge. Our product testers here at send online (a.k.a. the Send Online Customer Support staff on a Friday night after hours) tried the recipe using ginger beer and ginger ale. Ginger beer may be a bit hard to find depending on what part of the country you are, but the taste is worth the effort in finding ginger beer. It gives it a hot, spicy aftertaste that ginger ale doesn’t.

We recommend using a good spiced rum like Meyer’s or an Appelton Estates for authentic flavor. A dose of the Captain (Captain Morgan’s spiced rum) works well too.
