One crazy drink recipe

I've never cooked in a crock pot. I own one, but never figured out how throwing raw ingredients into one large electric piece of equipment can possibly have an outcome of a tasty meal. Call me old fashioned, call me a gas stove purist; I just can't do it.
While looking online for recipes (or somewhere to sell my crockpot) I came across drink recipes to cook in the crockpot. The Send Online Blogger Girl thought it would make a fun post and has allowed me to take over your bandwidth for a while. so for those who aren't stuck in the 1950s style of cooking on a range (or barbecue pit, complete with charcoal and lighter fluid) Sendliquor.com presents crock pot cooking to get crocked with:

Hot Rum Punch Recipe

The following list is for three quarts of punch.

Ingredients:
* 2 quarts apple cider
* 2 cups pineapple juice
* 1 cup orange juice
* 1 cup lemon juice
* 1 cup cranberry juice
* 3 cinnamon stick
* 1 tablespoon whole cloves
* 1/4 cup sugar

Directions: Place the above ingredients into your Crock Pot Slow Cooker and heat up well. This should take between 30 and 60 minutes. Serve the prepared ingredients with 1 jigger of rum that is added when serving.

Colonial Hot Buttered Rum Recipe

This recipe makes 14 to 15 servings.

Ingredients:
* 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
* 1/2 cup butter or margarine
* 1 pinch salt
* 3 sticks cinnamon
* 6 whole cloves
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 2 cups rum
* heavy cream -- whipped
* ground nutmeg -- for topping

Directions: Put all of the ingredients, except for the rum, the cream, and the nutmeg into Crock Pot; add 2 quarts of hot water to the combined ingredients. Stir the combined mixture well. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours. After cooking time, add the rum and stir to blend. Serve in mugs with a scoop of whipped cream and a dusting of nutmeg.
