A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away, send.com had TV commercials. These were commercials produced in the late 1990's by the original owners of send.com Back then, they sold golf memberships along with the many other thousands of gift items we have available now. Recently we found one of the old commercials and have posted the link here for prosperity.

It's pretty darned funny too. The campaign originally had three or four spots made, so far the crew at send.com has only been able to find this one.
We'd love to hear from someone that may know where we can find the other TV spots that were produced.

The Giver spots were my absolute favorites--as a matter of fact I think of The Giver every holiday season. This golf ad was absolutely *hilarious*.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it but...I couldn't for the life of me remember the sponsor (a quick Google search finally brought back the name) but I will NEVER forget "The Giver."
Here's to hoping you'll bring him (and his "Little Giver") back to life someday. :)
By the way, does anyone know who voiced The Giver? He sounds a lot like Martin Ferrero--a guy whose career seemed to tank after Jurassic Park. He was also a recurring character on Miami Vice--and he was just as funny as a snitch as he was as The Giver.
